Basketball training in Raleigh.

North Raleigh families train on weeknights at North Haven, off Six Forks Road. Two evening blocks, both after the school day and after most middle-school practices let out.

Your gym is North Haven

North Haven is inside the Beltline corridor's north end, on Six Forks between Strickland and Millbrook. The Tuesday and Thursday blocks run here. Weeknight sessions lean harder into skill work and decision-speed drills, then close live.

Getting here

A 6:30 PM start is deliberate. It clears the worst of the Six Forks and Falls of Neuse evening traffic and it leaves room for a school practice to finish first. From most of north Raleigh — North Hills, Millbrook, Leesville, Wakefield — that is a ten to twenty minute drive. From downtown or south Raleigh, budget closer to twenty-five, or use the weekend sessions in Fuquay-Varina instead.

The local landscape

Raleigh is the deepest basketball market in the Triangle and the most crowded. Athletes here are competing for minutes at large Wake County public programs and at private schools across the city, on rosters that are already full of trained players. That changes what the work has to look like: reps alone will not separate anybody here. Decision speed, footwork under fatigue, and being the player a coach trusts at the end of a game will.
